Flashdance

Flashdance is back and better than ever with a 2017 – 2018 UK tour. The story of the 18-year-old Alex unfolds in front of audience members. Alex is a welder by day, but at night, passion is pursued through “flashdancing.” The unforgettable story follows Alex’s attempt at making dreams come true with the goal of becoming a professional dancer.

Love mixes into her life causing her to grow and harness her ambitions to join the Shipley Dance Academy.

The musical follows the story of the hit film Flashdance, teaching audience members about holding onto their dreams and love no matter the odds.

A Selladoor Production, Flashdance combines superb choreography with a musical performance that will leave audience members dancing in their seats. Maniac, I Love Rock & Roll and Manhunt are followed up by the motion picture’s hit song: What a Feeling.

Joanne Clifton will be present at all of the tour’s venues except High Wycome and Edinburgh. Ben Adams will be present for all of the 2017 shows. Casting is still in the works for the 2018 tour.

Clifton is the Strictly Come Dancing Champion, she is also a World Champion ballroom champion and has won the same title in Europe. She is a dance sensation that is one of the best in the world. She made her debut in theatre on Face The Music. She has also played the role of Marilyn Monroe in Norma Jeane.

Ben Adams takes on the role of Nick Hurley, Alex’s love interest in the musical. Adams started his foray into singing at the young age of 8. He took this passion further as he grew up and started singing at royal weddings at Westminster Abbey before touring Europe. His voice has led him to sing in front of some of the world’s most influential people, including the Pope and the Queen. He was also the lead singer of the hit band a1.

The remaining of the cast includes an array of people, including Hollie Ann Lowe as Gloria, Sia Dauda as Kiki, Demmileigh Foster as Tess, Colin Kiyani as Jimmy, Carol Ball as Hannah, Rikki Chamberlain as Harry, Matt Concannon as CC and Sasha Latoya as Louise.

Matthew Cole is in charge of the show’s choreography.

Touring for the 2017 tour will end in December with the 2018 portion of the show starting in mid-January.

A musical “not to be missed,” Flashdance is filled with passion, fun and excitement with some of the best singing and dancing in the United Kingdom.
